Overview

What is One Platform about?

One Platform is a dashboard system for digital marketers. It makes a unified hub for all the platforms they work with, consolidating their campaigns for control, analysis, and generating summary reports.

 

By having all campaigns from various platforms accessible in one place, this streamlined approach can significantly reduce their workload, eliminating the need to shift between multiple campaigns for analysis.

 

As a result, marketers can focus their efforts on maximizing campaign profits and unlocking new potential for growth and success.

Overview

The Challenge

To design a product (Dashboard software) that displays data of all campaigns from all platforms that marketers work with so that it is possible to jump between clients' projects quickly, to produce a summary report for each client.

This will include login and signup screens, a home screen that would display a digital marketing KPI for users to analyze the data from campaigns, a general search field, a notification icon, a data refresh icon for live synchronization, and a profile menu. A platform connection page to connect to all ad accounts that have active campaigns, a projects page that will gather all the clients and projects in one place, a reports page that will be able to produce summarized reports for each client, and a settings page for payments and personal data.

  • To create a quick and simple option for users to move from project to project to analyze the data from their client's campaigns.

In order to analyze and calculate campaign data, digital marketers use too many tools and platforms

The first part of the project involved interviewing independent digital marketers who work with a variety of clients. I was able to understand their process and identify their pain points.

  • I learned from the interviews that a common workflow includes going through all the platforms running their clients' campaigns while checking their data. They organize all the data into an Excel spreadsheet, analyze it, and then optimize it according to each campaign to increase the profitability of all the campaigns. At the end of the month, they prepare for their customers a summary report of the status of the campaigns with how much profit they have earned for their business.

  • Digital marketers use Excel spreadsheets \ Google spreadsheet and platforms such as Facebook, Google ads, Outbrain, and more in order to reach more target audiences. So many tools make the process very complicated and time-consuming.

Practicality Is The Key

It will be possible to save time and increase campaign profitability by seeing all the data of all the campaigns in one dashboard.

Competitor Research

I checked out what the best similar tools exist on the market. I found two competing tools with a similar idea to mine. I read their customers' reviews and learned what their customers like about the product that works well for them and what works less.

While Cyfe dashboard allows marketers to integrate data from various marketing tools its integrations are limited and stagnant.

Klipfolio has well-organized dashboards and can display any KPIs you need/want, but the software is very difficult to learn, the user needs to have a high level of technical knowledge and also some background in writing code.

Products like Cyfe and klipfolio rely on custom dashboards that customers will choose and build, but those who have difficulty understanding how everything works prefer one dashboard with a clean and modern design that you can quickly learn and use.

To help me to focus on the target users through the entire design process, I worked on the personas based on the discovery research.

User Flow

User flow is the path taken by a prototypical user on a website or an app to complete a task.

This two-user flow shows from the start through a set of steps toward successfully generating a summary report of the campaign for the client.

The final step was to design the user interfaces - My goal was to create a minimalist design that will help to focus the user.

Dashboard screen - one place to see all the campaigns data

The users can select in the dashboard the specific project they want to see or add a new project and campaign. They can switch to a different project each time to go over the data they need for each client, switch between time periods, and see the financial data with or without VAT.

The users can choose which KPIs they want to see in the dashboard, drag and drop the KPIs where they are comfortable viewing them, go through the data in the graph, and compare.

Conclusion 

The project has undergone several improvements in a short period of time both in UI and UX, It was fun to work on and gain new insights, I look forward to continuing to work on it and doing user testing to strengthen the user experience.
